Connect Skool
Skool has no public posting API, so ViralGenHub connects to Skool through our browser extension. When you click connect, it passes your own Skool sign-in to ViralGenHub. Skool is in preview: only workspaces with tester access can connect it for now.
Get the extension from the Chrome Web Store
What you need
- A Skool account that is a member of the community you want to post to.
- A browser the extension supports (below).
- The ViralGenHub extension for Chrome, from the Chrome Web Store.
- Tester access for your workspace while Skool is in preview. Request tester access; once we approve it, you can connect Skool.
Supported browsers
- Google Chrome on a computer: Chrome Web Store
- Coming: Microsoft Edge (Edge Add-ons) and Firefox (Firefox Add-ons). This page will link to them once each store has published the extension.
- Brave, Vivaldi and Opera can install extensions from the Chrome Web Store (Opera asks you to add its “Install Chrome Extensions” helper first). We test on Chrome.
- Not available: Safari, and phones or tablets. Connect Skool from a computer; once it is connected you can schedule from anywhere.
Steps
- Install the ViralGenHub extension from the Chrome Web Store.
- In the same browser, sign in to skool.com with the account that is a member of your community.
- In ViralGenHub, click Add Channel and choose Skool.
- Read the note about the browser extension and click I understand, continue. The communities your Skool account belongs to then appear.
- When you write a post for Skool, pick the group to post in and its category (label).
If it cannot read your Skool sign-in
- Sign in to skool.com in the same browser where the extension is installed, then try again.
- Still not working? Type chrome://extensions in the address bar (in Edge: edge://extensions), click Details under ViralGenHub, and check that Site access lets it reach skool.com.
What the extension does
When you click connect, the extension reads your Skool login cookies (client_id and auth_token) from your own browser and sends them to ViralGenHub over HTTPS. It refreshes them about once a day to keep the connection working. The extension does not read your browsing history or any other website, and it only talks to app.viralgenhub.com.
At your own risk
Skool offers no public posting API, so using your browser session may breach Skool's terms; you connect at your own risk. You can disconnect the channel in ViralGenHub at any time.
What ViralGenHub stores
We store the Skool cookies encrypted and use them only to publish the posts you schedule to Skool and to keep the connection working. We do not sell or share these cookies, and we delete them when you disconnect the channel or delete your account. More in the Privacy Policy.
