Help: connecting accounts

Connect Mastodon (your own instance)

ViralGenHub needs the address of your Mastodon server. This page shows where to get it.

Before you start: Make sure this browser is signed in to the right account (your brand account, not a personal one) before you copy the key.

What you need

An account on a Mastodon server.

Steps

  1. In ViralGenHub choose Mastodon (custom instance).
  2. Enter your server address, for example https://fosstodon.org.
  3. Sign in on your server's own page when it opens and approve access.

Staying safe

You sign in on your own server, so ViralGenHub never sees your password. You can revoke access later under Preferences, then Account, then Authorized apps on your server.

What ViralGenHub stores

The details you enter are stored encrypted. They are used only to post and read basic account information for the channel you connected, and they are deleted when you disconnect the channel. More in the Privacy Policy.
